What types of Instagram content can FastDL download?
FastDL downloads public Instagram videos, Reels, photos (including carousel posts with multiple items), Stories, Highlights and profile pictures. It does not work with content from private accounts or content that requires an Instagram login to view.
Does FastDL work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. Open FastDL in your mobile browser, paste the Instagram link and tap Download. On iPhone, use Safari - the file saves to your Files app under Downloads. To move it to your Photos app, open the file in Files and tap the share icon, then choose Save to Photos. On Android, the file downloads directly to your Downloads folder.
Do I need to log in to use FastDL?
No. FastDL doesn't ask for your Instagram credentials. It only works with publicly accessible posts - the same content anyone can view without logging in. If a post is from a private account, it cannot be downloaded.
Why isn't my Instagram link working?
The most common reasons are: the account is private, the Story has expired (Stories disappear after 24 hours), or the link is incomplete. Copy the link again directly from the post - not from a notification or DM thread - and try again.
Can I download from a private Instagram account?
No. FastDL can only access content that is publicly visible. If an account is set to private, the content is not accessible to our servers. Try our Private Instagram Downloader which uses a secure browser-side method if you follow that account.
Where does the downloaded file go on my phone?
On iPhone (Safari): the file saves to Files app → Downloads. To move it to your Camera Roll, open the file and tap the share icon → Save Video or Save Image. On Android: the file goes to your Downloads folder, accessible through your file manager or the Files app.
Can I download multiple photos or videos from a carousel post?
Yes! When you paste a carousel post link, FastDL automatically extracts every photo and video so you can download each item individually or all at once. If you want to download multiple separate Instagram post links at the same time, use our Instagram Bulk Downloader.
What video quality will I get?
You get the quality that Instagram provides for that post. If the original was uploaded in high resolution, you'll see that option. FastDL doesn't re-encode or compress files - what you download is what Instagram serves.
Is it legal to download Instagram content?
Downloading for personal, offline viewing is generally acceptable. Re-uploading, redistributing or using someone else's content commercially without permission is not. Always respect the copyright of the original creator.
Will the creator know I downloaded their content?
No. FastDL fetches content from Instagram's public servers without interacting with the creator's account. There is no notification to them.
